FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OUTSOURCE MARKETING NAMES DAN MURPHY COMMUNICATIONS INTEGRATOR

Bellevue, Wash.—Dan Murphy, founder and principal of M-Phatic Communications in Seattle, has joined Outsource Marketing in a merger arrangement effective immediately. Murphy will concentrate on expanding Outsource Marketing's media relations, publicity and business communications capabilities.

Murphy brings more than 20 years experience as a business publications editor to his new position as Communications Integrator. For more than two decades, he has specialized in taking complex technical and scientific information and creating clear, concise communications for business and professional audiences in a variety of media.

"We're excited to welcome someone of Dan's experience and capability into the firm," said Patrick Byers, President of Outsource Marketing. "His background will strengthen our capabilities, providing clients with deeper media relations and business communications expertise."

Murphy has been in the forefront of policy debates surrounding the food industry as a journalist, feature writer and commentator. In 1996, he helped develop the Meatingplace.com, now considered one of the food industry's premier daily news and industry information resources. In 2000, he launched his own weekly online commentary The Vocal Point, which continues to bring a mainstream sensibility to discussions of policies affecting food safety, animal rights and diet and health issues.

He formerly served as Vice President of Public Affairs at the American Meat Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying organization, where he headed up media relations and helped build a proactive agenda for communicating the membership's viewpoint on Capitol Hill and within the federal regulatory agencies.

In his editorial role, Murphy has been instrumental in creating or re-launching the editorial content of six monthly magazines in fields ranging from clinical medicine to meatpacking to commercial embroidery. As editor in chief of such food-industry business publications as National Provisioner and Meat Marketing & Technology, he debated activists on National Public Radio, addressed such groups as the Southeastern Poultry & Egg Association, the American Association of Meat Processors and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and delivered a pro-industry speech at the 2002 National Animal Rights Convention.

Murphy holds degrees in Journalism and Health Education from the University of Oregon.
