Harvard Business School Recognizes the Growth and Value of Marketing Outsourcing
In March of this year, Harvard Business School professors Gail J. McGovern and John Quelch documented the growing marketing outsourcing trend in an article entitled Outsourcing Marketing in the Harvard Business Review.
In the article, the authors note that the trend is picking up steam: 53 percent of marketing executives have reported plans to outsource most of their marketing activities in a recent poll. Benefits of outsourcing marketing include cost savings, improved quality and the addition of "left-brain" analytical skills, among others.
Though there is a fee to download this article from Harvard Business Online (it's worth the $6 charge), an interview with professor Gail J. McGovern entitled Should You Outsource Your Marketing is available for free at Harvard Business School's Working Knowledge web site.
