Easter baskets and Matzah and more money, Oy Vey!

By April 16, 2014January 29th, 2021No Comments

Whether you celebrate Easter or Passover (or maybe both), Americans are spending more than ever on our cherished spring holidays.

No longer are Easter baskets filled with a simple chocolate bunny and a handful of plastic eggs. Instead it’s becoming Christmas part deux with baskets full of toys and enough sugar to make your dentist cringe. In 2012 Americans spent over 14.6 billion on Easter-related goods.

And let’s not forget about Passover. In 2012 sales for kosher Passover items reached 2.5 billion dollars. That’s a lot of matzah! Passover goods are also reaching new popularity because many items are gluten-free.

So whether you celebrate Easter or Passover, feel good that you’ll be helping boost America’s economy.
