Organization spotlight: Friends of Youth

It’s pretty fun being part of a company celebrating it’s 20th year. What’s even better is being told by your company founder that you get to pick a charity to sponsor in honor of our anniversary.

I have two kids, and like any parent, I want to see them happy, healthy, and successful. So, it hits a bit too close to home when I see homeless kids on the streets. Whether it was drugs, an abusive family, or mental illness that got them to where they are, these are young people who deserve better. This is why I chose to sponsor Friends of Youth

Friends of Youth’s mission is to

Provide a broad range of services to youth and their families to improve their emotional stability and self sufficiency.

Their services include:

  • Youth shelters (including the only overnight youth shelter on the eastside)
  • Youth development initiatives
  • In-home family support and education for young parents
  • Youth and family counseling
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Therapeutic foster care
  • Residential treatment
  • Transitional housing for homeless youth and teen mothers

Friends of Youth’s mission is to provide a broad range of services to youth and their families to improve their emotional stability and self sufficiency. Friends of Youth has been around since 1951 and supports over 5,500 youth and young adults each year. They operate facilities and programs at 21 sites in 18 cities across the Puget Sound.

Earlier this month Outsource Marketing was honored to be a sponsor of the Celebration of Youth luncheon. Our team left inspired and feeling like it doesn’t take much to make a huge impact on a young person’s life.

We encourage you to learn more about Friends of Youth or if you are so inclined, make a financial contribution. We guarantee every penny of your donation will be put to good use.

Follow us on social media and on our 20th Anniversary page throughout 2017 as we highlight these nonprofits and the important work they are doing in #OutGiving20.
