Scott Barry Kaufman, a psychologist at New York University, spent years researching creativity and has found that people with greater imaginations tend to have messier minds. Kaufman is supported by a study reported in the Huffington Post: “Messy Work Spaces Spur Creativity, While Tidy Environments Linked With Healthy Choices.”  The study indicated that “working in an orderly office environment promotes healthy choices and higher expectations” while “working in a messier setting provided a more innovative atmosphere and a willingness to try new things.”

Need to boost your creativity? Consider making a mess.
