Drawing government attention through creativity

By September 15, 2014May 10th, 2021No Comments

Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania and they seem to have a large problem: the roads throughout the city are filled with giant potholes. Many people within the community are starting to complain about the lack of government attention to the matter, but instead of your classic picket fence strike, an active group (called Z999) decided to gain the government’s attention in a much more creative way.

The group took a humorous approach to the situation, they took a photo shoot. Two local photographers, Arturas Artiusenka and Eurika Balciute, captured the absurdity of the conditions and snagged the attention of the Lithuanian media.

“None of the photos were made to offend our government; it was just a fun way to express Lithuanian citizens’ thoughts. Let’s hope that the condition of our roads gets better next year!”
