Remember that trick your mom taught you with the paper towel, one foot, and a very quick sprint through the door to a public restroom? Although looking completely ridiculous trying to navigate through the door without making contact with the dirty door handle, our moms were correct about one thing — door handles are home millions of germs.

According to a study done by Chuck Gerba, PhD, a professor of environmental microbiology at the University of Arizona, only 68% of people wash their hands before leaving the restroom. But have no fear, 2 teenagers from Hong Kong have designed an innovative door handle that kills 99.8%.
