Since I started Outsource Marketing in 1997, I’ve been asked countless times, “when should I outsource my marketing?”

“When it’s not a core competency,” is the simple response, but across hundreds of clients, we’ve found that in most instances, there are seven reasons why a company might want to consider marketing outsourcing.

  1. Integrate marketing better—knowledge transfer happens once
  2. Improve company focus
  3. Quickly fix a difficult to manage marketing function
  4. Gain access to top-tier capabilities
  5. Resources aren’t available internally
  6. Free internal resources for other purposes
  7. Share risks

    I basically outsource EVERYTHING for marketing except conducting teleseminars, speaking and writing the articles for my ezine.

    I have also just hired someone to run all of my marketing for me. This is a huge step for me, but as a business coach who teaches people to delegate everything except your core competencies, this is a brilliant move for my bottom line growth and ability to achieve our goals next year.

    A few things that I delegate that free me up immensley are:
    * Cross-posting teleseminars & events to social media sites & online calendars
    * Keeping my website updated with latest events, product changes, etc.
    * Putting my ezine & blog posts together weekly
    * Coordinating all the press, speaking and teleclass requests

    I could go on and on (I actually have a list of 101 tasks I outsource at http://www.successconnections.com/101ways) but I think the point is to get clear on 3 things:

    What are your high payoff activities? The things that bring you the most joy, align with your desired outcomes and are greatest profit.

    How much time a week are you doing them? If it’s less than 80% — you are a prime candidate for delegating more tasks.

    What will you do with the free time? Some of us it’s invested back into high payoff activities where as for others it’s all about the lifestyle — travel, family, hobbies, etc.

    Outsourcing is an exceptional way to capitalize in on your core concerns in today’s business world. :d With the ever growing unsuitability of our economy. 😮 One must come to the conclusion and determine if business process outsourcing is for their business or not. 😕

    What if it was your only option? The banks have been given a financial bailout, however what about the rest of the suffering business economy in general? Literally a year worth of downward upside down stock portfolio’s. Trillions of $$ Dollars were lost and sure not a result of outsourcing.

    I think we need to diversify ourselves and become pioneers of the future together rather than continuing to be adverse!
