Outdoor advertising isn’t something most people would say they love. In fact, in 2006 Sao Paulo – the fourth largest city in the world – outlawed most outdoor ads.
That will never happen in Times Square. According to a recent survey, part of the draw of Times Square is the advertising. In some of the most expensive ad space in the world, the premium is on creativity as each advertiser tries to find a way to draw the attention of the visitor to their brand.
The result: Times Square is to outdoor equivalent of the Super Bowl spot, and it’s the second most appealing aspect of Times Square for visitors:
