He’s a wee 20 years old but founder and CEO of “The Ocean Cleanup,” Boyan Slat,  is making waves. Actually, he’s using waves to rid the water of plastic.

Boyan invented the world’s longest floating structure (2,000m) designed to skim the ocean’s surface to collect plastic garbage while not disturbing marine life. The system is scheduled to deploy in Q2 of 2016 near Tsushima Island in Japan. The hope is to clean up the nearly one cubic meter of pollution per person washed up each year on Tsushima Island.

Fingers crossed this innovation works and can be utilized around the world. Stay tuned….
